Possibilities of continuing education | After finishing the M.Ed. in Italian language and Literature, students can enrol on an appropriate doctoral programme. |
Employment possibilities | Students can work in the Croatian and European labour markets in the fields of journalism, publishing, editorial work, cultural management, cultural policy, and cultural resource management. This also includes other jobs that require the possession of appropriate knowledge in a broader range of humanities and social science disciplines, economic institutions, diplomatic and consular missions. Students also acquire the competences for translation work. After completing the teaching module, students can teach Italian in primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Croatia. |

ITALIAN LITERATURE IN ITALY, ISTRIA, AND THE CROATIAN LITTORAL | 1. Outline and describe literary trends in the history of Italian literature. 2. Describe the characteristics of literature in the Italian language in Italy, Istria, and the Croatian littoral. 3. Explain the significance of authors who wrote in Italian in Istria and the Croatian littoral and describe the main features of their creativity. 4. Analyse and critically interpret literary texts by applying different interpretive paradigms 5. Explain different critical approaches to the text. |
LINGUISTICS AND THE MODERN ITALIAN LANGUAGE | 1. Distinguish between and compare different linguistic theoretical models. 2. Correctly use linguistic metalanguage. 3. Present scientific facts using reasoned argument. 4. Correctly apply grammatical structures in oral and written communication. 5. Write a text of an intermediate level of complexity 6. METHODOLOGY OF TEACHING ITALIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE | 1. List, describe and explain the types of lessons and characteristics of how Italian language and/or literature lessons are organised in primary and secondary schools. 2. Define important methodological concepts and their application in schools. 3. Explain the basics of language acquisition and learning. 4. Apply theoretical considerations to a specific topic in concrete independent research. 5. Explain different techniques, strategies, and forms of teaching Italian language and literature. 6. Differentiate between, and explain different forms of curricular, and extracurricular education using the example of Italian language and literature. 7. Analyse and interpret Italian language and/or literature lessons. 8. Evaluate a lesson in Italian language and/or literature. 9.
