Borrowing Regulations
Library users can borrow up to 5 items from the library for up to a period of 30 days upon presentation of a student or library membership card. Items that are available for loan have a sticker on the back and are marked with “OTVORENI” (open) and “ČITAONICA” (reading room):
- Items marked “OTVORENI” can be borrowed for a period of 30 days,
- Items marked “ČITAONICA” can be borrowed for one day, excluding weekends, holidays, and non-working days.
Journals, reference collection and printed copies of doctoral dissertations are used in the reading room and are not available for loan outside the library.
Book loans, whose loan period has not already expired, can be extended in the following ways:
- Online, by accessing your personal user profile (you can get this information in the library)
- By sending an e-mail to knjiznica@ffri.uniri.hr
- By phoning the telephone number 051/265-785

Users pay the required amount via a general payment slip or via internet banking using the Faculty’s IBAN. After payment has been made, a copy of the payment slip or confirmation of payment via internet banking must be brought to the library or sent by email to knjiznica@ffri.uniri.hr. When proof of payment has been presented, overdue fees are annulled, and a receipt is issued. After this, users can borrow materials from the library again.

Use of the Reading Room
The reading room is available to users for quiet work and study. You can only bring items into the reading room that are needed to work there. Access to the part of the reading room where the library collection is held is only granted to users on the condition that they store their personal belongings (bags, etc.) in the lockers located in front of the library entrance and leave their coats or jackets on the hangers in the entrance area. Users can get locker keys from the library staff at the borrowing desk and must be returned by 5.00 p.m.
You can search the library collection via the online catalogue here.
Collecting Items from the Library and Returns
Users have free access to the library’s collection, where they themselves can choose the items that they wish to borrow from the library. Those items that users have been using in the reading room, but do not wish to borrow, do not need to be returned to the shelves. They should be placed in the locations marked for this purpose.
Users can collect items that have been ordered online in the library area on the third floor (F-304). Items that users haven’t been ordered online, or selected in the collection, need to be searched for in the library catalogue, and then selected. After this, users must fill out a loans form and hand it in to a member of the library staff, who then will bring them the item and register its loan.
Users do not need to enter the library to return items borrowed from the library. Whenever possible, we kindly ask users to use the book machine (located in front of room F-306) to return borrowed items. Items for return can also be sent by post to the following address:
Filozofski fakultet u Rijeci, Knjižnica
