HISTORY AND THEORY OF LITERATURE IN GERMAN-SPEAKING REGIONS | 1. Define the main concepts in the field of German-speaking literary studies. 2. Describe the development of German literature from the 18th to the 21st centuries. 3. Locate literary texts within the appropriate socio-historical and political contexts. 4. List the poetological determinants of literary genres. 5. Define the poetic characteristics of different time periods and authors. 6. Interpret literary works from different time periods by using close reading techniques. |
BASIC LINGUISTICS FOR GERMANISTS | 1. Explain the principle linguistic concepts, approaches, and disciplines. 2. Describe the morphological system of the German language. 3. Describe the syntactic system of the German language. 4. Describe the lexical system of the German language. 5. Outline the basic concepts in semiotics and semantics. 6. Explain the similarities and differences between the German and Croatian language systems using linguistic terminology. |
CONTEMPORARY GERMAN LANGUAGE | 1. Apply knowledge about morphological forms in written and oral expression. 2. Apply the orthographic rules of the German language in the written text. 3. Apply the syntactic rules of standard German language. 4. Apply knowledge of the German language at the B2 (or higher) level. 5. Show understanding and retell a text that has been read and/or heard. 6. Translate texts of the appropriate complexity into German or Croatian. 7. 7. Use the German language in speech in different communication situations. |
