The main aim of the Quality Assurance Policy at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka is to continuously monitor and improve the quality of all the faculty’s activities. It works to stimulate stakeholders, so they take an active role and feel responsible about ensuring and improving the quality of the system.
This promotion of a quality assurance culture and the development of institutional mechanisms and procedures is carried out in accordance with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Area of Higher Education. The quality assurance system involves the systematic evaluation, and continuous promotion of high standards of professional and vocational development, and includes all the different stakeholders in the faculty’s work.
The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is responsible for the quality assurance and improvement system, who, with the help of the Quality Assurance Committee, manages and implements its activities and provides support to ensure its smooth functioning.
The fundamental tenets of the Quality Assurance Policy at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka are:
- The continuous improvement and modernisation of study programmes based on the monitoring of scientific knowledge relevant to economic and social needs, along with the continuous monitoring and improvement of teaching quality.
- To improve the quality and quantity of scientific research.
- Ensuring the ethics, transparency, and impartiality of work by adopting and applying the normative acts and documents in the Quality Assurance system.
- Quality Assurance is the responsibility of all departments and other organisational units, as well as all individuals and requires the active engagement of students.
- To encourage and maintain cooperation with external stakeholders.
- To foster an encouraging working environment and offer adequate support through the continuous monitoring of quality indicators of different forms of work and, based on these results, to periodically revise the Quality Assurance Policy and Strategy of the Faculty.
