BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF THE FIELD AND PERIODS OF ART HISTORY | 1. Recognize and describe the primary characteristics of an historical overview of art history (ancient, middle, and new age, modern and contemporary periods). 2. Identify and distinguish the primary concepts about the formal, significatory and structural levels of art works and phenomena. 3. Apply the primary knowledge and skills from the field of art history and theory. 4. Evaluate and explain the principal similarities and differences between particular art historical and theoretical ideas in distinct historical and territorial phenomena and periods. 5. Integrate primary knowledge in more complex, individual examples in dominant groups of artistic phenomena. 6. Recognise and explain the primary concepts of museology and cultural heritage protection. |
BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF ART HISTORY METHODOLOGY | 1. Define and distinguish art historical methods of analysis and the interpretation of art works and phenomena at a rudimentary level. 2. Recognise, describe, and categorise the main components of art works and phenomena. 3. Conduct a formal and iconographic analysis of art works and phenomena and relate them to a socio-historical context. 4. Recognise, describe, and categorise the primary methods of cultural heritage protection. |
BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF PROFESSIONAL TERMINOLOGY | 1. Recognise, name, and explain the primary terminology in art history. 2. Apply and demonstrate primary terminology in art and history in the oral and written form. 3. Distinguish between specific terminology in the fields of museology, cultural heritage protection and basic theoretical abstractions (generalisations). |
BASIC KNOWLEDGE ON USING WRITTEN AND VISUAL SOURCES | 1. Differentiate between types and categories of written sources related to the subject areas of art history and theory. 2. Differentiate between types and categories of visual sources related to the subject areas of art history and theory. 3. Use written and visual sources to solve tasks of appropriate complexity. 4. Use professional literature in both Croatian and one other language. |
BASIC INTERPRETATIONS AND CONTEXTUALISATIONS OF ART WORKS AND APPEARANCES | 1. Critically describe the context of creation of works of art and phenomena. 2. Compare art works and phenomena in the context of developing cultural identities. 3. Demonstrate a fundamental level of communication based on relevant arguments and interpretations 4. In your own words, explain the context of the creation of works of art and their appearance. |

Orienting the context of the content, methods, and terminology of related disciplines (history, archaeology, ethnology, cultural anthropology, comparative literature, aesthetics, philology, etc.). 2.
